You would never hire a podiatrist to perform your heart surgery. In today's ever-changing world, doctors specialize and go through years of training to become experts at their practiced trade.

The same holds true with respect to attorneys. They are each individually shaped by their legal experiences and not every attorney practices in every single area of the law. You will need an attorney skilled in DWI defense because there are many complex issues and technicalities involved with DWI cases that other lawyers may not be aware of.

Should you receive a DWI or DUI, contact an attorney as soon as possible. A DWI is a very time sensitive matter. For example, you only have fifteen days to request a hearing on your driver's license privileges. Once the deadline has passed, there is nothing that can be done and your license will automatically be suspended. If you cannot get to an attorney within that time frame, please download and fax the courtesy request form located on my website under "Forms." Then be sure to bring the form and fax confirmation once you are able to meet with an attorney along with any notices mailed to you by the Department of Public Safety.

DWI does not just affect your driving privilege and cash flow. It can wreck havoc on your life, family, job, friends, and more. We have all heard the phrase "the best defense is a good offense." The same is true with DWI and DUI offenses. If ever in doubt, call a cab. The cab fare is a lot less expensive and a lot less hassle than a DWI. Good luck and drive safely!
